Worship While It’s Warm

Worship While It’s Warm

About the Name

Worship is more than just a corporate gathering where people go to pay homage to God.  A believer in Christ is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that temple should express a complete devotion to God through a surrendered life to His Will and Word.  And the life submitted to God incorporates loving God with all our hearts, all our souls and all are minds.  This is true worship.

We cannot truly worship what we do not know and understand.  From the moment we have the ability to understand, which begins through conversion founded on faith in what Christ did on the cross, our journey on this quest begins. While we will never have a complete understanding of an infinate God, we do have a written transmission of what God chose to communicate to us about Himself.  We therefore must engage in a continual learning process to deepen our understanding of who God is and who he created us to be.  In this way, our love, appreciation and devotion should grow thus facilitating the surrender required to live a submitted life.  We must continue to do as 2 Peter 3:18 says, “to grow in grace and the true knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

But this process can grow cold, prompted by many factors including routine familiarity, ignorance, pride, stubborness and personal agendas.  So the warmness represents the engagement that will produce a continual liquidity of learning, seeking, asking and submitting.  The concept of worshipping while its warm should challenge us to go higher in our understanding, deeper in our relationship and lower on our knees.
